In 1998 I became the owner of my first home computer. Nothing could have prepared me for how this device would come to change my life and the lives of everyone on this planet. Even at the time of its aquisition I dont think I had any clue where this would take me. As this revolution has taken hold and developed we have developed with it and now its impossible to imagine a single day without being connected to it. Its almost become a metaphysical monster to which we are all tied in ways that we may not understand.
In those first few months I used to delight in searching the internet for interesting and unusual sites and then i would absorb them into myself. I could not believe the things that were completely new and strange of which i had never heard before. And I began to feel as though a whole world had been kept from me even though I have traveled and lived abroad extensively. Without even being aware of my own journeys on the internet highway I paved my own road and developed unique interests.
I was an internet virgin of sorts and I rarely stopped to question the nature of these things that held my interest. Being a rather intuitive individual I took those rides from strangers online never questioning their intent. I assumed if someone was allowed to place information online then it must be valid, true and without dupicity. Well those days are long gone. I have lost my innocence and so has the world in which I live. Back then the internet had not been around long enough for us to understand its impact on society and on the lives of its users. I dont think that anyone not even those who created it had any clue of how and what would transpire. My daily connection includes social networking, paying bills, managing my personal home business, connecting with clients, checking the news, the weather and a myriad of things both functional and entertaining. In 2012 everyone can experience the world live as it happens moment to moment. Some of you have no idea how the world functioned in 1975 when TV had 4 channels and it went off air at midnight. A world without cellphones, and ofcourse no internet of anykind. Some of us remember how to use index cards at the library. I even buy books online. The changes are too vast to mention.
Some of us come from a generation where we are a direct result of our parental units. The world in which we lived was in direct corrolation to their level of education, financial savy and personal contacts. By looking at us individually you could sum up our background accordingly. My son has been born into the internet age and to him a cursor is as natural as a pencil is to us. His world is only limited by his imagination and his friends dont just live in his neighborhood, they can be found anywhere he travels on the web accessing his interests. His generation and his peers are centered around this new configuration.
I dont think the internet will ever max out because its growth is tied exponentially to that of technology and society and in the same relationship it has begun to reflect all of our shortcomings. Accessing the internet is not unlike driving a vehicle but at this moment there is no regulation that controls its safety and ensures responsibility by its users. We have come to a point where those who see a need for regulation are opposed to those who see this as a first ammendment right of free speech and expression, and the battle goes on. There are some interesting equivilants between a ghost box and your home computer, laptop or portable tablet, they are all portals. They allow things in which can have an impact that we did not realize or even let things in totally hidden from us such as viruses and cookies that track our activities and infect our files for the purposes of greed and control.
Large parts of the internet are controlled by personalities that feed on the human need to know and to seek help and they are ready to empty your wallet. As we approach December 2012 there are websites online feeding this frenzy selling emergency supplies, books and all sorts of garbage to help raise your vibration and help you transition to the new earth that will arrive shortly. All of this would smell like snake oil accept it has been packaged carefully, has a slick interface to engage the user and makes a direct connection to the fears that most normal humans have of aging, death, disease and economic collapse. They have no interest in saving yourlife, helping you understand life and death but market their interests in attempting to get to your bank card. Some of these people i even trusted myself until i arrived on their facebook pages and joined their forums and found myself stonewalled and deleted when I shared free info to the public which threatened their greed. Please remember that anything that is true and real is free. This website provides tools that you can use to determine the validity of the points presented. When you realize what the truth is then share it with another so they too can repeat the process.
