Near death experiences are a sub-catagory all their own in the realm of paranormal experiences. This is no longer a case of us contacting other dimensions using menchanical or sensory means but actually projecting ourselves temporarily into another dimension and then returning to our bodies. Such cases more often than not involve people who have suffered cardiac arrest and been considered medically dead for a period of time and then resuscitated. These episodes commonly happen during:
* Heart attacks
* Drownings
* Surgery and medical trauma treatments
Everyone from every walk of life has experienced these and the most interesting catagories of NDE's belong to children. The collection of facts and events brought back from children who are not old enough to even understand the ramification of what they are communicating. Not all NDE's are identical and result in experiences that have similar sequences of events. The most outstanding and remebered part of these NDE's are:
* Finding yourself outside of your body
* Having an overwhelming sensation of awarness of what is going on around you.
* Levitating above your own body and looking down at it from cieling level
* Being able to hear conversation and see activity while under anesthesia
* Being able to travel at will great distances or even find yourself present at multiple locations simply by thinking of them.
* Encounter other beings or loved ones on the otherside
* Travel through a tunnel or move towards a bright light as though pulled by a powerful force.
* experience yourself surrounded by great love and acceptance
* Feel unattached to your earthly body and desire to move on to the otherside
* Find yourself reliving te events of your life in a panaramic sequence
* Find yourself before a panel having a life review of your actions
* Sense that you have approached an invisible border that you must not cross
* Be told that you must return to your body and continue with your life because it is not your time
* Be given a message or an understanding to bring back with you to enhance your life or that of others.
Those who have suffered NDE's seem to be able to make drastic life changes after their experience and live life with a greater passion, peace and understanding. However there are also reports of those who experience dark, troubling and horrifying expeiences and come back fearing that Hell and eternal damnation might be real. Science and the emdical establishment are undecided if these experiences are paranormal or whether the human brain in its shut down mode somehow extracts from our life experiences to create an afterlife or even if this is a pre-programmed mode to leesen the fear of death in those last moments of life. Whatever thetruth maybe it is clear that there are many unanswered questions and those who make it to deaths door and return remember things and have experiences that can be corroborated yet we dont understand how they attained that knowledge.
In 1979 after incurring head injuries during a horsebackriding mis-hap I suffered and NDE. This happened well before our electronic age and noone had an explanation for what I had experienced and it was not fora decade or more that I realized what it might mean. While I was being resuscitated I found myself outside my body watching the events on the side line. I also remember the bright light of love and warmth and the desire to not return without any lingering feelings towards the life that I might leave behind. I remember being inside a vast building made of white marble much like the kind that you find in our capitol Washington DC. This building had an official feeling like it was a gathering point for incoming souls on their way to other destinations. I was aware of being surrounded by others like myself who were awaiting a decision and then being told that I must return. In the weeks that followed I was extremely depressed and I would lie in bed and try to recreate the feeling of approaching the bright light of warmth and love. One night years ago I found a website that was a storehouse of NDE stories from across the world. In this depository I ran across an account by a man who also described the building that I had entered . Amidst all the stories I frankly never imagined that I would ever find one that would match mine and I took it as a message from above.
