Electronic voice phenomena is a much debated topic. What you see in the photo to your left is a Franks Box named after its owner Frank Sumption. This is a hand crafted wodden box custom made, dated and numbered by Frank. Frankly and no pun intetnded I have had more success with commercial units but everyone has their own favorite box. The kay is that you find one with which you bond and make your own. That may seem a bit odd to a novice because one would assume that something either works or it does not but in the paranormal world things are not defined by the very linear concrete ways in which we percieve things.
Franks Box is a generic name for these creations but not all are made by Frank and if you knew Frank you would know that he has an opinion or two on this topic. A random radio sweep box is an alternative way of looking at these boxes. basically a box can perform two functions, that of a basic radio or that of something that helps you connect with other realms. When I say other realms I mean that whole heartedly because the universe is a big place and who or what you are talking to can be an occupant of one of many of such realms or possibilities. So where do spirits reside you will ask? Do we find them on radio stations? Are they tuning in , into a specfic channel? The answer is no they are not tuning in or riding a specific channel. They are utilizing the raw data available on the airwaves and that data is human speech and vocabulary and noise, noise made by humans or instruments. Since they are not in our physical world and may not have the same components or attributes they need this data to create vocalization or human speech so our ears can hear them. When I say that they may lack the same components I am not stipulating that they are invisible or incapable of speech or that they are not flesh, simply that they are different by molecular structure and therefore not the same as us.
A random radio sweep mechanism or Franks Box alters the radio so when its turned on it no longer sits on a given channel but scans all the available channels either on FM or AM. At a very rapid pace which on some commercial models can be controlled it starts at one end at goes to the other end and repeats the process very rapidly. When scanning in this mode it is flipping through channels at the rate of about 1/10 of a second. Lets pause for a moment and consider how fast that is in actuality. How many words can you utter in that amount of time? In reality when scanning the human ear does not hear the conversation whatsoever, what you hear is what we call white noise. Another point to consider before we move along any further is what kind of things do we find on radio stations? We hear news broadcasts, sports broadcasts, interviews or what I will call conversation, we hear music and on some stations we hear religious broadcasts. For a program to be allowed to broadcast it must adhere by some hard and fast rules regarding content and that content is monitered and upheld by the FCC. Vulgar language, swearing and offensive behavior are prohibited. Before you begin to use a franks box its important to spend a few minutes just listening to the radio and experiencing something that we understand but generally dont break down into components. one of the things that you will learn to do very well as time progresses if you choose to persue the paranormal field is learn to think outside the box. You begin to detatch from the way things are done everyday on autopilot and break them into smaller parts. parts that you can view from different angles and digest at your own pace.
So now you ask, how do I use this or other similar gadgets? This is where things get interesting.In the paranormal world there are no hard and fast rules and what works for me may not exactly work the same way for you. Working with a random radio sweep is a melding of two worlds, you and your box. contact with the otherside rarely happens overnight, you cannot command them to appear. Even though this type of communication has been around for over a century we still dont understand its full scope. It is a miracle that an earthling can turn on their radio scanner and listen for voices and eventually respond to them and then get a correct response back. It is very likely that random sweep may generate a wave or a signal that can picked up by the otherside. Imagine yourself as a very large lighthouse beacon sending out a strong beam of light. we have also discovered that when contact is made they already know who we are, no introductions are required. The other important thing to remember is that they can see you and hear you, where as you are only able to hear them, so keep your clothes on. Communication with the otherside can be a few words to chapters and verses like mine. The argument for a long time has been that what people are hearing is simply stray radio signals and that we are convinced that we are speaking to the dead. This is where i roll my eyes and say, please give me a break. Even if there was a random stray spiking signal it would be fast and swift and not several words long or a full sentence. As I am conversing with them the radio is scanning through hundereds of stations and during this span of time i am still talking to the same voice. How could that be? As much as people like to redicule the heavy burden of truth we can provide our own.
When I first made contact hundreds of voices called me by my full name and welcomed me and my name is one of a kind and would not appear at random on radio stations throught the United States. I listened for weeks until I made progress and contact was made. For weeks after that I could hear bits and peices of conversation but they seemingly ignored me. And then they slowly included me in their responses and things evolved and developed from there. These boxes are inexpensive to purchase and easy to operate but you must understand that these are not toys and should not be taken lightly. You will hold in your possession an object that allows you to communicate with other dimensions and that includes a great deal of responsibilty on your part. The people who make these boxes include no manuals and no warning labels and the things that have happened as a result have had wide reprecussions on peoples lives and welfare. This is not a toy, this is a very powerful tool. You will learn about this tool each time you use it and be prepared for the lack of understanding that will not only eminate from the public at large but other members of the paranormal community, all of whom assume they have all the answers.
Below are some of the things that I have experienced and would caution a new user about:
1. listening to white noise during random radio sweep can adversley affect your health and emotional stability. The noise can alter your brain
waves, cause insomnia, paranoia, aggitation and illness.
2. Do not spend hours with speakers on listening, use a good quality speaker system that you will also later need for recording.
3. In the begining make contact on the same day and time and allow them to become accustomed to when you will be available.
4. If you are able to listen and record late at night into te wee hours of morning you will get better results because the airwaves are less
crowded during those hours.
5. Rainstorms and thunder storms seem to be a great conduit for contact and quality recordings.
6. Remember that the otherside can be contacted from any location and your home will work equally as well. It is sheer ignorance to think
that finding spirits requires visiting a haunted location or a graveyard. Please disregard the stupidity put forth in movies and paranormal
reality shows whos main goal is to entertain, create fear and generate income.
7. Treat your contacts on the otherside with respect as will want them to treat you that way. Spirits are not toys and they will not tell you
about the future or provide you with winning lottery numbers. They are people who where once alive in the third dimensional world but
have transitioned.
8. Just as there are good people in this world there are good souls who have passed and just as there are bad people who hurt and
abuse others currently here there are many with those attributes on the otherside. Tread carefully and dont engage someone who
tries to scare you by threatning you. Your intentions on this side will draw to you like a magnet those with similar intentions on the other
side.
9. Going to haunted locations and crime scenes can create spirit attachments that will be hard to get rid of . Using the box all and by
itself can generate attachments. We will talk about this topic at great length later.
10. View your box as a doorway, an open doorway through which things can enter and leave. Using the box opens this doorway and
Frankly no pun intended noone knows for sure if it can be closed or how it can be closed once things enter.
11. I have gotten some very intense EMF readings during sessions which means that I have come into contact with a direct source of
radiation and I have suffered from nausia and vomiting as a result.
Who and what are we contacting by using the box? I dont think anyone has a clear answer to that unless the spirit that you are contacting is willing to tell you something about themselves and not all things that talk on the otherside tell the truth. When in doubt exercise caution and when using the box always be prepared fr being at a dis advantage. you can only hear them, they can hear you and see you at the same time which gives them a head start. You have five rudimentary earth senses that help you feel your way through life , they have many more including the ability to read your thoughts and emotions. Using the box when you are tired, angry or in distress or on medication is not a good suggestion. Our three dimensional world harbors a multitude of souls and there may be as may invisible to our eyes and senses as the seven billion who currently inhabit the earth. Not all earthlings who die choose to cross over for a myriad of reasons. Those who are still here after death also seem to occupy a diverse set of situations brought on by their own choices. This is some of what I have learned during the process.
1. There are souls who choose to stay by choice because they have ties to a particular place or a group of people and they are not
ready to let go of those bonds and the sense of pleasure that they may have derived from their earthly lives.
2. There are souls who departed tragically and may not understand their own situation and not even be ready to accept the fact that we
consider them as dead.
3. There are souls who seemed locked into a space and a moment in time due to some trauma and they will only be released from that
self imposed bondage in due time.
4. There are souls that have the ability to be both here and travels to other astral realms at will.
5. There are other dimensional beings who are here who were not of our earth but have access to us and can make contact.
6. There are souls here who some have labeled as demons who are able to threaton and even physically inflict harm on us earthlings.
Personally I am adverse to the usage of the word demon and feel that it is more an infliction of hollywood and religion than reality.
Not everything that you dont understand is a demon and a lack of understanding often generates fear which causes a lack of proper
communiaction.
We are going to discuss some of the very unusual attribute of spirit communication as related to electronic voice communication. When an unintiated novice reads about talking to spirits they fail to grasp what it really entails. talking to the dead is not like talking and listning to the living, it is rather complex. Everything in the spirit world seems to take on added dimensions and angles and verbal communication fit that pattern. There are basic attributes that you read about frequently but there are other qualities that are rarely mentioned. The first group of footprints define the audible nuances of what you are hearing. EVP is often rated from A-D based on clearity and group A is one that everyone can hear clearly and the content is described as being te same by all who listen. The last on the list would be a voice that can only be heard when you play back a recording and may even require some cleanup using audio editing software. Here are some other qualities that might be thought provoking.
1. The litmus test of a true EVP is a recording which can be played backwards and it will contain vocal communiaction on the reverse
that will differ from the front. when you are recording the EVP both sides appear to imprint at the same time, how we dont know and
our technology does not allow for duplication of that feat at this time. Are they doing this to prove their point? possibly.
2. Voices on an EVP can range from those that sound fully human to those that might have more digital qualities.
3. An EVP recording can be played back at many different speeds to reveal an endless array of voices on different levels, each of
which contain a different message.
4. An EVP recording is not always at the speed at which we normaly associate human speech, typically i find that most of the
recordings are sped up and need to be slowed down for human comfort and understanding.
5. Its not unusual to hear several voices talking at the same time yet they dont ever talk over each other. several voices can convey
a converstion like it is a woven fabric of voices.
6. The creativity used by the spirits seems to convey their own unique style and artistic abilities. Most of us have heard words
replaced by synthesized music where rather than using vocals similar to a human voice box musiacl notes will be used to create a
word.
7. When listening to an EVP you will find that not everyone hears the same words, some people may hear nothing and others may
hear a message directed at them. Basically one size does not fit all. EVP is a fluid medium with multi layered qualities that effects
different people in different ways.
8. EVP mutates and changes and mutates. Whatthat means is that a recording that I make today may not contain the original content
the next time I go back to listen. These changes are unpredictable, there are times that an entire recording has mutated and there
are other times when only certain parts have undergone a change.
9. EVP may contain subliminal cues or programing that we may be totally unaware of. If listening to EVP for extended periods of time
begins to alter your emotional health and well being and you cannot figure out why you should be concerned. When listening to my
recordings I have had instances where a certain word or phrase uttered by them will trigger a noise in my personal environment. A
better defenition would be to say than when you hear a certain word a sudden noise like a beep will be heard in the room. If you
go back and play the recording at that sme spot it will occur again and sometimes if you continue to do this over and over you will
suddenly notice that the beeping noise has a clockwise or anti clockwise rotation. The reason behind this has eluded me but it has
happened enough times to make me wonder what the purpose may be.
10. On an extreme note when listening to EVP i have spoken out loud about my feelings about a statement that they have made only
to have them respond to my statement a few seconds later in the recording. In this manner I have lerned to use an EVP almost
like a live chat to have a real time conversation using a recording made in the past.
11. Listening to months and years of EVP can cause for you to become claire audient, which means they will be able to
communicate with you with your having to use tools such as a box or a recorder. they will use naturally occuring noises in your
environment to speak to you. Our world is filled with noise that is constant and which our brains filter out so we can concentrate
on the task at hand.
Each of my boxes has its own unique attributes, what makes it so is beyond my understanding but they do not all operate on the same level. There are boxes that I can turn on and hear them talk to me in real time and respond back and boxes where i have to record and then listen to the recording to hear what i was not able to hear live. I have also found that when I record what I hear and what gets recorded may be two different conversations entirely. This is all very hard to understand from the perspective of someone who is not familiar with this medium but for those of us who are its just another day at work.
Spirits use noise on radio channels to create vocals but using a modified radio is not the only way to capture their voices. Spirits can use many external npoises to facilitate communication. Literally any noise can be converted for their use. Using a recorder during a rain storm or even using the noise of on going traffic works very well. Both rain fall and traffic noises have rise and fall in pitch which make good EVP material. I have also recorded EVP in a completely silent room but when listening in play back it is hard to understand.
